Today from church: "if Jesus was the son of God, then he was the best person who ever lived. He was absolute good. No one before or since has even come close to being as good as him. Now, we killed him. We killed the best person who ever lived, who ever will live. He rose again to forgive us of our sins, but what would have happened if he didn't come back to save us? What would that mean for us, that we killed not only the best person to ever have walked the Earth, but also ruined our only chance at salvation? What if Jesus hadn't come back?" (an interesting homily, huh?)
