Appetite for Destruction

Watched a ski movie with my dad earlier, heard something that kinda got my attention.

The most alive we are is when we are (emotionally or physically) the closest to going over the edge. To dying, to loosing everything, whatever. I really think thats true in some ways.

Anyway, they did a big segment on Doug Coombs (who later died doing what he loved), talking about how after having these really intense and spartan expiriences in the wilderness, that when you come back, your bed is the softest any bed as ever been, and your dinner is as delicious as any dinner you'll ever eat, and the comfortable things in life are as intensely pleasureable as they will ever be.

Tomorrow: turning up the intensity.
