(Note: the ONLY way to sterilize body jewelry is to AUTOCLAVE it- bleach will NOT DESTROY VIRUSES, like HIV HCV etc etc)

We are talking over a dozen pieces complete with balls for $30. Studs and rings of different size and gauges that you would see at any typical piercing place.
Again, bleached, sterile, washed, and clean."
This made me want to throw up, to know that someone out there is going to take this at face value, buy & use this body jewelry, and expose themselves to HIV, Hep C and god knows what the fuck else.

Bleach does kill HIV. HIV is a weak and whimpy virus outside of the body.
I don't know a lot about HEP-C, but HEP-B is a pretty robust and hearty virus outside the body, that's why vector transmission is a serious risk.
But I'm pretty sure that bleach kills both of these viruses. Otherwise you'd be in major risk everytime you swam in a pool. Depends on your definition of sterile, but I will buy that sterilization only comes from an autoclave.
